Technelec Ltd has developed sensorless torque estimation schemes for the
hybrid stepping motor.  The load on the shaft of the stepping motor is
monitored continuously during a move so that the optimum current is
delivered without stalling or loosing synchronisation.  This technology
offers cooler stepping motors and ensures that a motor can deliver
maximum acceleration rates without any risk of stalling.
