Technelec has developed power factor correction circuits for power supplies and motor drives.  These have ranged from conventional boost converters to innovative motor drive circuits incorporating power factor correction within their designs.  In one product the motor drive was designed to operate without requiring electrolytic capacitors such that the low value of DC link capacitance drew near unity power factor through the rectifier.
